Even the best visual inspection can't tell whether a given brake has adequate brake force. Visual inspections detect missing components, physical damage or bad slack adjustment. In the case of contaminated linings and pressure restrictions in air lines, the braking performance can be dramatically degraded despite the proper appearance of mechanical components.
We go beyond what meets the eye. Inland tests brake force, brake balance and deceleration to determine braking performance and efficiency, rolling resistance to identify unnecessary wear and drag, and axle weight.
